Brittany Murphy Is Dead

The wonderful actress Brittany Murphy is dead and I can't believe it. Brittany is probably most famous for her roles in 8 Mile with Eminem and Clueless also starring Alicia Silverstone and Sin City. More recently she's stared in romantic comedies such as Just Married with Ashton Kutcher. Murphy previously dated Kutcher who was heartbroken by the news and tweeted that:

"2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine." "My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany's family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon."

Brittany Murphy was confirmed dead on Sunday the 20^th of December 2009. Brittany follows many young actors who have died recently such as Heath Ledger as she was only 32.

A hospital spokeswoman from the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center near Beverly Hills confirmed that the star died after going in to cardiac arrest. Hospital sources would not however release the cause of death. The actress has looked thinner and thinner in recent times. At the start of Murphy's career in shows such as The Torklesons she was a normal averaged sized teenage girl, which you could see in her role in Clueless. Recently she has lost a great deal of weight perhaps due to the pressures of being thinner in Hollywood. Did the young actress give into the same pressures as other young Hollywood it girls such as Nicole Ritchie, Kate Bosworth, and the Olsen Twins. It has been speculated that Brittany Murphy may have had an eating disorder. An eating disorder such as anorexia or bulimia can greatly weaken a person's heart making them more susceptible to heart attacks and cardiac arrest. It is unusual for such a young girl to die at 32. In Hollywood when a young actor or actress dies it is usually due to drugs or eating disorders, but we will have to wait until the official reports are released for confirmation.

Brittany Murphy lived in Los Angeles with her British Screenwriter husband Simon Monjack. Reports have claimed that the LA Fire department responded to a call at Murphy's home at 0800 local time and unfortunately she was pronounced dead two hours later.

Murphy was due to appear in Sylvester Stallone's movie, The Expendables which is set for release next year. After her break out role in Clueless, Murphy has not been short of work offers. She has also had great success lending her voice to animated features such as King of the Hill and Happy Feet.

It is strange how in the past year the entertainment world has lost so many of their rising and most prominent stars. Brittany Murphy will be added to the list of young actress who died before their prime. Thoughts go out to Murphy's husband and family.
